The unveiling ceremony of the Sino Russian Language Education University Alliance

On May 18, the unveiling ceremony for the Sino-Russian University Alliance for Language Education and the Forum of Presidents of the Sino-Russian Language EducationUniversities took placein Harbin. More than 100 leaders, experts and scholars from 25 universities across the country like Heilongjiang University and 12 universities in Russiasuch asMoscow State Linguistic Universityparticipated in the event, along with representativesfrom the Ministry of Education and the Provincial Department of Education. Jing Lijiang, the vice president of Heilongjiang University, hosted the unveiling ceremony.

Cheng Shuang, Deputy Director of the Heilongjiang Provincial Department of Education; Wang Jingbo, President of Heilongjiang University; and I.A. Krayeva, President of Moscow State Linguistic University, eachdeliveredspeeches at the opening ceremony

A total of 5 people jointly unveiled the Sino-Russian University Alliance for Language Education, including Liu Jianqing, Director of the Eurasian Division of the Department of International Cooperation and Exchanges of the Ministry of Education, Cheng Shuang, Deputy Director of the Provincial Department of Education, Chi Baoxu, Secretary of the Party Committee of the University, Wang Jingbo, President of Heilongjiang University, and I. A. Kraeva, President of Moscow State Linguistic University.

The alliance consists of 40 Chinese universities and 25 Russian universities, with Heilongjiang University as the Chinese leading university and Moscow State Linguistic University as the Russianleadingone. The establishment of the alliance aims to deep further the cooperation between Chinese and Russian universities in language teaching and promotion, meet the needs of the times and society, and serve the long-term development of friendly relations between the two countries.”

The opening ceremony was followed by a forum of Presidentsof China-Russia Language Education universities. Six universities delivered keynote speeches, including Heilongjiang University, Moscow State University of Languages, University of International Business and Economics, Far Eastern Federal University, Liaoning University and Tianjin Foreign Studies University.Additionally,14 universitiesparticipatedas invited speakers ,including Beijing Foreign Studies University, Northeast Federal University, Beijing Language and Culture University, Nizhny Novgorod StateLinguisticUniversity, Shanghai International Studies University, Russian State University of Humanities, Dalian University of Foreign Languages, Sichuan International Studies University, Northeast Normal University, Irkutsk State Polytechnic University, Xinjiang University, Kamchatsky State Technical University, Moscow Municipal Pedagogical University, Beijing International Studies University .

At the closing ceremony, Chi Baoxu, the Secretary of the School Party Committee, and I. A. Kraeva, the President of Moscow State Linguistic University, made concluding speeches successively.

After the forum, a group meeting was held. Heilongjiang University then signed cooperation agreements with Nizhny Novgorod StateLinguisticUniversity and Kamchatka State University respectively. The participants also went to the Harbin Conservatory of Music to participate in the special concert. “The ‘Era of Digital Intelligence and Sino-Russian Language Education’ concert.”The next day,on the 19th, the participants went back to visit the History Museum of Heilongjiang University and the Russian Language School of Heilongjiang University to learn more about the history and development process.
