Recently, Clarivate released the list of Highly Cited Researchers 2024. Among the 20 ESI disciplines announced this time, only 21 scholarswere selectedfrom four universities in Heilongjiang Province, including Harbin Institute of Technology, Northeast Agricultural University, Heilongjiang University, and Harbin Engineering University. Professors Fu Honggang, Tian Chungui, and Xie Ying have been included in the list, ranking 63rd among universities in Mainland China in terms of the number of selections.

Only 1% of global researchers are selected as "Highly Cited Researchers", and their research outcomes often represent the frontiers and trends in their respective fields, which are of great significance in defining the direction of disciplinary development, focusing on research hotspots, and promoting in-depth frontier research.

Profiles of the Selected Highly Cited Researchers:

Professor Fu Honggang has been selected for the list of Highly Cited Researchers in the interdisciplinary field for seven consecutive years. Professor Fu, is currently the honorary director of the Photochemistry Specialized Committee of the China Renewable Energy Society(CRES), the deputy director of the Photocatalysis Specialized Committee of theChinese Society for Imaging Science and Technology(CSIST), a member of the Applied Chemistry and Inorganic Chemistry Disciplinary Committees of the Chinese Chemical Society, and a member of the Catalysis, Electrochemistry and Crystal Chemistry Specialized Committees, the deputy director of the Photocatalysis Specialized Committee of the CSIST, a member of the Academic Committees of the "Functional Mesoporous Materials" and "Artificial Photosynthesis", two Basic Science Centers of the National Natural Science Foundation, a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry (from July 2019 to present) and the deputy editor of the important journal EES Catalysis byRSC. Professor Fu has presided over and undertaken more than 20 national-level projects such as key projects of the National Natural Science Foundation and key R&D projects of the Ministry of Science and Technology. As the corresponding author, Professor Fu has published more than 440 academic papers in important journals on J. Am. Chem. Soc., Angew. Chem. Int. Ed., Adv. Mater., Nat. Commun., etc., with more than 36,000 citations, an H-index of 96, more than 60 papers being ESI Top 1% Highly Cited Papers, eight papers being ESI Top 0.1% hot papers, and one paper being selected into the 100 Most Influential International Academic Papers in China in 2019. Professor Fu has obtained 47 authorized invention patents (with one invention patent each in the United States, Japan and South Korea for the technology of synthesizing graphene from biomass), two patents of which have been commercialized.

Professor Tian Chungui has been selected for the list of "Highly Cited Researchers" in interdisciplinary field for four consecutive years. Professor Tian Chungui is a distinguished professor of "Longjiang Scholars" in Heilongjiang Province, a member of the Young Chemists Committee of the Chinese Chemical Society, and an editorial board member of Chinese Chemical Letters. He has presided over andundertakenmore than 10 projects, including the Key R&D Project of Ministry of Science and Technology and General Program of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and published more than 200 research papers in journals such as Angew. Chem. Int. Ed., Adv. Mater., Acc. Mater. Res., Coord. Chem. Rev. etc. Among them, 20 papers are selected as ESI Top 1% Highly Cited Papers, and five papers are selected as ESI Top 0.1% hot papers.

Professor Xie Ying has been selected for the list of "Highly Cited Researchers" in interdisciplinary field for three consecutive years. She is a "Young Longjiang Scholar" in Heilongjiang Province, a member of Chinese Chemical Society, and an outstanding editorial board member of Journal ofPhysical Chemistry. She has published more than 230 papers in J. Am. Chem. Soc., Nat. Commun., Energy Environ. Sci, Adv. Funct. Mater., Nano Energy, Sci. Bull., Sci. China Mater. and other journals. Her articles have been cited more than 17,000 times, with an H-index of 66. Among them, 23 papers are ESI Top 1% Highly Cited Papers, and four papers are ESI Top 0.1% hot papers.
